General Accountant.
Location: Canada (Remote)
Reports to: Finance Manager
Salary Range: $45,000 – $50,000 (Canadian Dollars)
Position Type: Full-time
As General Accountant, you will work remotely and must thrive in a decentralized work environment. This means that you are a highly motivated individual who can confidently and capably operate with a high degree of autonomy. The responsibilities for this role are varied, and because of this, you must be capable of managing multiple priorities, stakeholders, and deadlines. You will be working with, and supported by, a team that includes a Client Accounting Manager, a Finance Manager and a Finance Director. As a team, you will be responsible for delivering the experience of a well-resourced in-house accounting team, remotely.
Responsibilities
This role reports to the Finance Manager. This is a billable position in the business. The target utilization is 85%.
The General Accountant will be responsible for the following:
- Posting of all Accounts Payable (project related and overhead related) including posting to project management system where applicable
- Setting up weekly payment file for your client’s approval
- Posting of all Bank and Credit Card transactions
- All monthly bank and credit card reconciliations
- Regular follow up with Client on missing supporting documentation
- Employee Expense reimbursements
- Cash flow forecasting
- HST, EHT, WSIB Filing and Payment and Corporate Tax Installment Payments
- Responding to emails at the accounting@client email
- Other projects as assigned
Qualifications
- A university or college degree, preferably in business
- Prior working experience in a fast paced, service-oriented environment
- Some experience with cloud-based solutions an asset but not required
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail and ability to manage multiple deadlines and stakeholders
- Ability to communicate effectively (over email, Slack, Zoom, Google meets)
