Client Accounting Manager.

Location: Canada (Remote)
Reports to: Finance Manager
Salary Range: $45,000 – $60,000 (Canadian Dollars)
Position Type: Full-time

As a Client Accounting Manager, you will be the day-to-day contact for the clients you lead as it relates to revenue and project related queries.  You will be a highly organized, proactive, and service-oriented accountant with strong communication skills.  In this role you will work remotely and must be confident, intrinsically motivated and thrive in a fast-paced, decentralized environment.  You will be working with and supported by a team that includes a General Accountant, a Finance Manager, and a Finance Director.  As a team, you will be responsible for delivering the experience of a well-resourced in-house accounting team, remotely.

Responsibilities

In addition to being the client-facing lead on your portfolio of clients as it relates to revenue, you will be responsible for the following:

  • Maintaining inventory schedule of Gross Billing, Expected Hard Costs and Gross Profit by client and job
  • Proactive review of client management reports to ensure that billing is being completed on time, fees and production costs are being adequately estimated for and recovered
  • Learning the deal terms for each of your client’s clients (Project fees vs. Retainer, mark-ups, hourly rates, etc)
  • Maintain Billing schedule for your clients; ensure all billing is accurate, is sent to clients on time and that all invoices are paid within the client payment terms
  • Preparation of the monthly WIP report, leading the monthly WIP meeting and taking care of all post WIP meeting deliverables.
  • Preparation of supporting schedules for the Monthly Management pack as assigned by the Finance Manager
  • Work with the General Accountant to prepare the weekly cash flow forecast with a focus on Cash Inflows
  • Misc. project related financial analysis as required

For some of our smaller clients, you will also be responsible for the following General Accounting responsibilities, including:

  • Data entry of supplier invoices and credit card charges
  • Preparation of payment run
  • Reconciliation of bank accounts and corporate credit cards
  • HST filing

Qualifications

  • Undergraduate degree in Business.  It is not necessary to have an accounting degree, but you must be interested in accounting.  We are willing to train the right applicants
  • Some experience with cloud-based accounting solutions an asset but not required
  • Strong organizational skills, interpersonal skills, attention to detail and ability to manage multiple deadlines
  • Ability to communicate effectively both in person and remotely
